Privacy Policy for PDF Compressor - PDf Resizer

Supetech ("we", "us", or "our") operates the PDF Compressor - PDf Resizerr mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our App, and the choices you have associated with that information.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or submit any personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
Your documents and files
The App reads PDF files from your device so it can display them. Your documents never leave your device. All rendering, text search, highlighting, compression and image conversion is performed locally on your device. We do not collect, upload, transmit, or store:
- Your PDF files, or any part of their contents
- File names, folder names, or file paths
- Text that you select, highlight, or search for
- Your search queries
The App stores the following only on your own device, and it is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. It is removed when you uninstall the App:
- A list of the PDF files found in the folder you selected, including their names, sizes, and page counts
- Your reading position in each document, so the App can offer to return you to the page you left off on
- Bookmarks and highlights that you create
- Your preferences, such as theme and default zoom
Information collected automatically
The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics. This information is not linked to your identity and never includes anything from your documents. It consists of:
- A randomly generated app instance ID — an identifier for your installation of the App, not tied to your name, email, or any account
- Device and application information — device model, operating system version, App version, language, and country or region (derived from your IP address by Google, which then discards it)
- Anonymous interaction events — counts only: that a document was opened; that a highlight was created (including which of the four highlighter colours was used); that a document tool finished (which tool, whether it succeeded, and the settings you chose — compression level, or image format and quality); that a button on a tool's result screen was used; and which compression strength was used, recorded as a plain count per strength
That is the complete list of events the App sends. They describe the OUTCOME and the settings you selected — never anything measured from your document. File sizes, how much a file shrank, page counts and image counts are deliberately not sent.
Crash and error reports
The App uses Google Firebase Crashlytics so failures can be fixed. A report is sent when the App crashes, and also when a document tool fails in a way the App recovers from — for example if compressing a document runs out of memory. A report contains:
- A stack trace — the internal sequence of App code that was running, expressed as our own file and function names
- Device and application state — device model, operating system version, App version, available memory and storage, and how long the App had been running
- A randomly generated installation identifier, used to tell one device's reports apart from another's. It is reset if you reinstall the App
- Two labels describing what the App was doing — which stage failed, and where relevant the compression level you had selected
A crash report describes our code, not your document. It never includes your PDF files or any part of their contents, file names, folder names, file paths, page text, or your search queries. Information measured from your document — its size, its page count, how many images it contains, or which page failed — is deliberately excluded, even though it would help us diagnose problems, because it describes your file rather than your use of the App.
Crash reporting cannot currently be turned off separately from the App.
Advertising
The App shows advertisements, supplied by Google AdMob. Ads appear in one place only: while a PDF is being compressed. There are no ads in the reader, the library, or anywhere else in the App.
To select and measure those ads, the AdMob software on your device uses:
- Your device's advertising ID — a resettable identifier provided by Android, not tied to your name, email, or any account. You can reset it, or ask apps not to use it for personalisation, at any time in Settings › Google › Ads (the exact path varies by device)
- Coarse interest categories derived from your device by Android's built-in Topics API, used to make ads more relevant
- Device and app information — device model, operating system version, App version, language and approximate region, and whether an ad was shown, viewed or tapped
Advertising information is processed by Google and the advertising partners bidding to show you an ad. Unlike the analytics and crash reporting described above, where Google acts only on our behalf, this involves sharing with third parties. It is governed by how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Ads cannot currently be turned off in the App.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, messages, financial information, or data belonging to any other app.
Permissions
The App requests no runtime permissions. It does not ask for storage, location, camera, microphone, or contacts access. Instead of broad storage access, you select a single folder using Android's built-in file picker, and the App can only read PDF files inside the folder you explicitly choose.
The App declares these install-time permissions:

2. How We Use Your Information
We use the anonymous information collected automatically for the following purposes:
- To understand which features of the App are used, and how often
- To identify errors, crashes, and areas where the App performs poorly
- To decide which improvements to prioritise in future versions
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. The App contains no in-app purchases.
The App does show advertisements while a PDF is being compressed, and the advertising information described under "Advertising" above is used to select and measure them. Nothing else in the App is used for advertising: the anonymous usage statistics and crash reports described earlier are used only for the three purposes listed above, and no information about your documents is used for advertising at all.
Files the App creates
When you ask the App to save highlights into a new PDF, to compress a PDF, to remove or reorder its pages, or to convert a PDF into images, the resulting files are written only to a location you select yourself through Android's own save or folder picker. Converted images are placed in their own subfolder and are not added to your photo gallery or shared media. The App gains no additional access to your storage by doing this, and it never modifies or deletes your original file.
Temporary files
To do this work safely, the App sometimes writes a temporary copy of a document into its own private cache directory on your device. This happens when it saves a new PDF (the file is built in the cache first, so an interrupted save cannot leave a damaged file where you chose to put it), when it opens a very large document (parts are buffered to disk instead of memory), and when you tap Share (a copy is made so that another app you choose can read it).
These copies stay on your device, in storage that other apps cannot read. They are deleted when the work finishes, and Android may also clear them at any time. Nothing in this cache is ever uploaded. Page thumbnails shown in your library are cached the same way.
Sharing a document
If you use the Share action, you choose which app receives the document, and that app then handles it under its own privacy policy. Nothing is shared unless you initiate it and pick a destination.

Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics process this information on our behalf — Google acts as our processor and does not use it for its own purposes.
AdMob is different, and the distinction matters. Advertising necessarily involves Google and the advertising partners bidding to show you an ad, so the information in the AdMob row above is shared with third parties rather than merely processed for us. Its use is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
We operate no servers of our own, and no third-party service other than those listed above receives any information from the App.
The App also uses open-source software to display documents, including Google's AndroidX PDF
libraries, Android's built-in PdfRenderer, and Apache PDFBox. These run entirely on your
device and make no network connections.
3. Data Retention and Backups
The anonymous analytics information described in Section 1 is retained by Google Firebase for the retention period configured in our Firebase project, and is deleted automatically after that period. Uninstalling the App resets the random app instance ID.
Crash and error reports are retained by Google Firebase Crashlytics for its own retention period, after which they are deleted automatically. Uninstalling the App resets the random installation identifier they are grouped by.
Advertising information is retained by Google according to its own policies. Resetting your advertising ID in Android's settings disconnects future ad activity from past activity.
The document library, reading positions, bookmarks, and highlights stored on your device are removed when you uninstall the App.
If you have Android's system backup enabled, your App preferences may be included in your Google account backup, governed by Google's own privacy policy. Your document library, reading progress, and highlights are deliberately excluded from backup, because they refer to file locations that are specific to a single device.
4. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Because your documents and reading data remain on your device and are never uploaded, they are protected by your device's own security, such as your screen lock and Android's app sandbox. The anonymous analytics information, crash reports and advertising requests described in Section 1 are transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
